vancouver General Hospital | vancouver, bC

Winner of the 2009 Canadian Society of Landscape Architects Regional Citation Award for Design, the public space on the grounds of Vancouver General Hospital includes this dynamic water feature.

A true blend of form and function it features unconventional decorative stainless steel columns that wind through a reflective pool, creating an artistic display that cleverly camouflages two large combustion stacks serving the underground power station below.

The steel columns suspend curved piping equipped with small nozzles that shower water down into the reflective pool below, offering residents, visitors and patients a unique visual experience.
